TUESDAY MARCH 3
MODE
Iron Gauntlet [Beta]
Iron Gauntlet [Beta] is a new competitive mode in Call of Duty: #Warzone that introduces a more demanding take on Battle Royale built around decision-making and mechanical skill.
This mode deviates from our standard Battle Royale experience by accelerating circle collapse speeds, making high-tier loot more scarce, removing free loadout drops, and boosting player health. Engagements last longer, mistakes carry greater consequences, and success depends less on perfect loadouts and more on teamwork, positioning, and smart resource management. In Iron Gauntlet [Beta], nearly every surrounding system has been reworked to create a more intense and competitive experience.
Our very first Iron Gauntlet [Beta] competitive event window will debut on Thursday, March 5th, at 10 AM and last until Monday, March 9th, at 10 AM PT.
As this is a Beta release, player feedback will directly help shape future iterations of Iron Gauntlet. We want to hear how the mode feels, what’s working well, what isn’t, and where you think it should go next. To be clear, nothing is off the table - from squad size and player health to loot availability and economy tuning. Your feedback, now more than ever, will help determine how Iron Gauntlet [Beta] evolves moving forward.

Major Gameplay Adjustments
» Squad Size «
Squad size was one of the most important decisions during development. Iron Gauntlet is intentionally built around Duos to emphasize tension, meaningful decision-making, and most importantly trust. Limiting players to a single teammate to rely on will have the following impact on matches:
Team economy becomes tighter, making purchases more deliberate.
Mistakes carry greater weight, reducing a squad’s margin for recovery.
Rotations, engagements, and resource management demand stronger coordination.
Success relies heavily on communication and teamwork.
When it’s just you and one partner against the lobby, every decision you make holds more weight.
» Survival «
The goal with Iron Gauntlet was to increase survivability while raising the overall difficulty level across the board. In this case, longer time-to-kill encourages thoughtful engagements, coordinated pushes, and allows for proper repositioning. In order to achieve the TTK and engagement pacing that we felt was right for Iron Gauntlet, we adjusted the following:
Base Health: Increased to 300, up from 150
Health Regeneration Delay: Increased to 8 seconds, up from 6
Health Regeneration Rate: Reduced to 40 per second, down from 50
Default Perk: Mountaineer
The important most important thing to keep in mind is that while you'll have some room to recover from minor mistakes, so will your enemies.
» Loot & Economy «
We've redesigned our loot distribution to lean into the importance of scavenging, contract completion, and early-game reliance on ground loot. In addition, we've balanced category drop rates so that players prioritize gunplay over equipment advantages. Loot adjustments include:
Ground loot primarily features Black Ops 7 weapons
Grappling Hooks have been added to loot
Common weapon attachments include extended magazines
Most weapons spawn with iron sights
Epic and Legendary weapon drops reduced by ⁓30%
Large cash piles are rarer
Killstreak drop rate significantly lowered
Perks removed from loot entirely
In Iron Gauntlet, the early game will emphasize scrappy firefights with limited tools, while stronger equipment gradually appears deeper into the match for squads that play their cards right.
» Loadouts «
In this competitive mode, the focus shifts away from guaranteed power spikes and more towards your ability to adapt. It's going to be imperative to keep looting and making the best use of what you find before investing into a Loadout Drop. Players will have to account for the following:
Free Loadout Drops have been disabled
Loadouts are only available via Buy Stations
Loadout Drop Marker costs have been increased to $20,000
Ranked Play restrictions applied with additional limitations
The goal here is simple: victory should not depend on reaching an ideal setup, but on how well Players perform with available resources.
» Buy Stations «
We've rebalanced Buy Station inventories and prices for more meaningful and impactful economic decision making. Reduced cash availability in ground loot combined with higher Buy Station prices adds weight to how players decide to invest their time and resources. Buy Stations adjustments include:
Prices increased between 30–50% across most items
Self-Revives have been removed
Gas Masks are only available via Buy Stations
Buy Station Inventory
Redeploy Squadmate
$5,000
Armor Plate
$350

UAV

Munitions Box

Armor Box

» Circle Pacing «
The gas circle collapses approximately 12% faster.
This may not sound significant at first but it has a noticeable impact on how matches play out. This change shaves approximately two minutes of each match, and drives much earlier engagements across the map. Paired with the loot and progression changes, this means teams will find often find themselves in combat situations without having had time to farm for their Loadouts. Adaptability, one of the core tenants of designing this mode, will come into play: you'll have to win early fights using whatever you find, in order to buy enough time to build a strong arsenal and close out matches.
» Restrictions «
The following table outlines all of the items in Iron Gauntlet [Beta] that have been intentionally disabled in order to maintain the competitive balance that we're aiming for.

Closing Thoughts
As previously mentioned in our Road to Season 02 blog , Ranked Play: Resurgence will be temporarily disabled for the duration of our Iron Gauntlet [Beta] competitive event.
During this first window, there are a number of key things we're looking to study with this experience including: 1) How pacing feels compared to standard Battle Royale, 2) The impact economic pressure has on meaningful decisions, 3) How survivability and longer engagements impact competitiveness, 4) What Players want to see expanded or refined.
To echo what we said at the start of this blog, the future of how we shape this mode and the role it plays in our competitive environment will depend on your engagement and, most importantly, the feedback you share with us. Send us your thoughts by tagging @RavenSoftware on X/Twitter. We look forward to hearing from you!
Good luck, have fun!
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 27
KILLSTREAKS
Adjusted
We’ve adjusted the spawn rates of Killstreaks in loot.
Resurgence modes received a 50% reduction from supply boxes and a 25% reduction from ground loot.
This includes Ranked Play
Battle Royale modes received a 10% reduction overall.
For Precision Airstrike, Napalm Strike, Cluster Strike, and Bunker Buster:
We have adjusted the radius for killstreak call-ins from 255 meters down to 150 meters.
We have adjusted the limit within the above radius from 3 to 2.
We adjusted the type of killstreak allowed in the radius to 1. This means 1 Precision Airstrike, 1 Cluster, etc.
When a Killstreak is called in, it is assigned to a designated area. We then track how many Killstreaks are active within that space. Once a set limit is reached, the airspace becomes crowded and additional Killstreaks cannot be deployed there. As active Killstreaks resolve, the airspace clears, allowing new ones to be called in.
Individually, you can deploy one Killstreak of a specific type every 20 seconds. Your squad is limited to one active Killstreak of that type as well. Once used, this allows opponents a window to retaliate. We will continue monitoring Killstreak usage and performance across all modes and make adjustments as needed.
BUG FIXES
Fixed an issue where the SR splash for eliminations did not appear upon completing a Ranked Play challenge.
Fixed an issue that prevented players from properly progressing the “Absolute Zero” mastery camo challenge for the NX Ravager.
Fixed an issue that allowed players, in isolated cases, to fall through map geometry in certain areas, which could be exploited.

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 19
BUG FIXES
Fixed an exploit allowing players to get under the map on Haven’s Hollow.
Fixed an issue where the Field Medic perk would not consume one of a downed player’s armor plates in their inventory upon revival.
The perk is intended to speed up revives, whether you’re reviving a teammate or being revived, and grant a movement speed boost. The armor component is designed to use the available plates of a downed player to instantly restore 50 armor upon revival. We want players to take full advantage of this perk’s functionality by continuing to loot for armor plates while avoiding situations where it grants free resources that could lead to unfair gameplay. We’ll continue monitoring performance and listening to feedback on all perk adjustments.
Fixed an issue where the killcam would fail to play if a player gave up while downed.
Fixed an issue causing the Heartbeat Sensor battery to drain even when it isn’t being used.
Fixed an issue preventing players from opening the Quick Menu when using a controller.
Fixed an issue that prevented the "100 Percenter" Custom Title from being awarded if Warzone was the final Mastery completed.

RICOCHET ANTI-CHEAT
Input Detections
New detections target input-modifying devices that simulate machine-perfect aim and recoil control, removing advantages no human player can naturally achieve. These devices include the Cronus Zen and the XIM Matrix.
Ranked Play Requirements
When Multiplayer Ranked Play launches in Season 02, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ will require a stronger form of Remote Attestation for PC players, in partnership with Microsoft. This extra layer of protection sets a new standard for Ranked Play, building on our existing TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements.
If you’re a PC player and need more information about security requirements, click here .
Anti-Teaming Updates
We’re implementing additional measures to detect and address various forms of unfair player behavior, including:
Continuing our anti-teaming efforts from the previous chapter, players who team with enemy squads will be detected in-game. Repeated kills of the same enemy or enemy team will also be flagged by our system for analysis.
If players continue to engage in unfair behavior, an in-game message in Warzone Ranked Play will alert them that SR is being reduced to zero for an unfair kill. The team sees these measures as building blocks towards our goal to create a robust system that detects and prevents unfair player behavior. Players can expect ongoing, strong enforcement against teaming, including seasonal and permanent Ranked Play bans.
Anti-teaming detection consists of three components:
Data Gathering (combination of existing and new data gathering algorithms)
In-game detection (new)
SR penalties for severe or repeated behavior
Resulting in kills granting 0 SR and the activity being logged for the team to review
We’re implementing analytics-based detection for botting behavior. As part of our continued efforts to combat unfair play, new metrics will track bot usage and coordinated efforts to boost accounts via botting. This data will be used by the team to issue Ranked Plays bans where appropriate.
We’re also implementing new metrics to detect enemies sharing cash suspiciously. Players may see an in-game message reading “Cash owned by enemy team” when picking up cash that was suspiciously dropped by an enemy. This will only trigger when the game detects activity above a relatively strict suspicion threshold - the goal is for most players to not encounter this. We will continue to monitor feedback and data as these components go live.
Overall, recurring instances of the outlined behavior will be detected by the game, and the collected data will be used by our team to issue Ranked Play bans at a larger and more accurate scale. In the meantime, please continue to use our in-game reporting tool to flag bad actors and provide feedback via social media channels.

MAPS
Rebirth Island Winter Refresh
Our Rebirth Island update brings a fresh layer of intensity to the island with a new point of interest, environmental additions, and winter-themed gameplay updates - all while keeping the soul of Rebirth Island intact. Snowstorms closing in, infil gas explosions, and new or updated gameplay elements reshape familiar spaces, and The Guild has left its mark by reworking select locations.
Turbine New Point-of-Interest
The massive turbine now dominates the center of the POI, immediately changing how players approach mid-game rotations and engagements. Its strong verticality, multiple access points, and interior paths create layered combat scenarios, making it a powerful location to contest, control, and defend.
Outpost New Environmental Update
Located in the south, Outpost revitalizes a previously empty transition zone that often left players exposed. The addition of new structures and terrain creates safer rotation options while opening up fresh combat and looting opportunities. It strikes a balance between cover, space, and flow—giving players room to reset, gear up, and re-engage with confidence.
Biometric Scanner
We’ve refined the Biometric Scanner experience on Rebirth Island with rebalanced loot probabilities, clearer gameplay cues, and a cleaner, more readable interface. Scanner placement and visuals have been updated, rewards are now simpler and more tailored to the player, and unnecessary randomness has been removed - keeping the core experience intact while making it more consistent and rewarding.
Infil Gas Explosions
During the Infil, unexpected explosions may occur, generating deadly gas in select POIs. Be alert, as this can alter your strategy. Infil Gas Explosions are temporary—while some POIs may be inaccessible at match start if engulfed, they will become available once the gas dissipates.
Snowstorm Gas
Snowstorm Gas transforms the familiar Rebirth Island gas into a full winter hazard, exclusive to Winter Rebirth, while preserving all core gameplay rules and readability. Gas masks, decontamination stations, damage, and messaging behave exactly as players expect.
Smart Displays
Smart Displays can now be found in more locations across the map.
Smart Displays have been updated with new information, including:
When a Black EXE Card has been given
Top Scorer of the match
Player with the most Eliminations
POI with the highest player density
Cradle Fractures

Loaded Resurgence Casual Limited-Time Mode
For players looking for a more accessible experience, a Casual version of Loaded Resurgence will also be available during Season 02.

Squad Size: Quads
Live Dates: Week 3 & 4
Rush Resurgence Weekend-Only Limited-Time Mode

Map: Rebirth Island
Players: 32
Squad Size: Quads
Live Dates: Week 3
Iron Gauntlet [Beta] New Mode
Launching as a Beta, Iron Gauntlet is a competitive-focused Battle Royale mode built as an evolution of Iron Trials. This mode is deliberately designed to raise the intensity by featuring accelerated circle collapse, rarer high-tier loot, increased player health, no free loadout drops, and no Gulag second chances. With fewer safety nets and higher consequences for mistakes, every engagement demands confidence and precision. As announced in our previous competitive blog, this mode will be made available during a limited window later in Season 02. We’ll share more details including mode settings and restrictions in the coming weeks as we draw closer to the planned live dates.
Map: Verdansk
Players: 150
Squad Size: Duos
Live Dates: March 5th - 9th
We made the decision to separate Iron Gauntlet from Ranked Play to give each experience the space it needs to thrive. By keeping Ranked Play more focused and stable, we’re able to support a clearer competitive avenue, while using Iron Gauntlet as a space to explore fresh ideas and push the boundaries of high-skill Battle Royale. When the mode goes live, we’ll be actively listening to your feedback and closely reviewing in-game data across all aspects of the mode including squad size, player count, pacing, weapon balance, time-to-kill, and overall match flow. Ultimately, our goal is to use Iron Gauntlet as a proving ground for ideas that help us navigate creative decisions as we seek out the most rewarding competitive Battle Royale experience possible. We’re excited to see how this first iteration of the mode is received, and to take in the feedback we need to adjust the mode for future seasons.

RANKED PLAY
Introduction
Rank up and prove your prowess as Ranked Play: Resurgence returns! This competitive game mode features skilled Trios dropping into Haven’s Hollow to prove their mettle: Compete in high-stakes, fast-paced matches built around a refined ruleset more in line with Black Ops 7’s Multiplayer Ranked Play, as you battle to increase your Skill Rating, earn exclusive rewards, and climb the Skill Divisions on your path toward the top.
This chapter we are focusing on a couple of specific targets for Ranked play:
A big element of our game ends up relying on matchmaking, and proper placement of players in their intended skill ranges. SR adjustments have been made to try and facilitate this, by making it a little bit easier for high-performing players to move up ranks as long as they are continually performing well. Additionally, slight rebalances to deployment fees have been made to clearly delineate the progression in gameplay difficulty between the pre-crimson, and crimson+ divisions. While the curve is steeper at the end, it has not changed overall, so those in Iridescent will not feel any negative impact from this.
Additionally, restrictions and weapons have been updated to the most recent BO7 set, creating a fresh new meta to be discovered; we are excited to see how these changes play out on Haven’s Hollow, and how the new map and its unique layout play with the combat offerings in the hands of our most intrepid players!
Ranked Play will launch later into the day following the rollout of the Season 02 update on February 5th, 2026. Keep an eye on social channels for more information.
Unlocking Ranked Play
In order to access this mode, players must place amongst the top squads in at least 20 matches to be eligible to queue up and begin climbing the ranks.
In this case, "Top Placement" is defined as finishing among the Top 6 teams in Resurgence or the Top 15 teams in Battle Royale, excluding boot camp and casual modes.

In addition to the above, Eliminations factor in the difference in skill between you and the victim. This more accurately rewards overcoming a high ranked player, and lessens the impact if the skill delta is too wide (via players being brought into a match with friends, or otherwise).
This skill delta bonus reward changes depending on if they are + / - 3 rank divisions from your own.

KILLSTREAKS
General
Killstreak Call-In Restrictions
Restrictions now better reflect individual call-ins, reducing issues with multiple streaks being used at the same location.
Players should see “Airspace Crowded” less often. However, players will now see “At Your Active Limit” when attempting to immediately call in the same killstreak again.
New
Smoke Screen
A bombardment that deploys smoke in a line.
RC-XD Rebirth Island Only
The RC-XD is coming to Rebirth Island, bringing the familiar Multiplayer killstreak into Warzone with its core feel fully intact. It has been carefully adapted for Warzone’s scale, pacing, and circle pressure while preserving the same handling and skill expression, making the transition seamless for Multiplayer players.
The RC-XD can be found in the loot pool alongside other killstreaks, adding a high-impact, high-skill option to engagements.
Adjusted
The additional avenues of movement speed and survivability have created a space where some killstreaks have lessened their lethality. These changes are intended to increase the lethality of these killstreak so they can remain in step with other systemic changes.
Advanced UAV
Now requires 4 combined UAVs to activate a map-wide Advanced UAV.
Due to the vast amount of UAVs that are called match to match, especially when compared to other killstreaks, we are increasing the effort to activate the advanced UAV in this regard. We want the playspace to echo a more strategic approach to when and where a UAV should be used.
Cluster Strike
Missile travel time reduced, resulting in strikes now arrive 1.75 seconds faster.
Napalm Strike
Explosive damage increased from 150 to 300.
Explosion radius increased from 8m to 10m.
Individual bomb spread increased from 11m to 15m apart.
Fire patch damage now deals 100 damage per second while standing in fire.
Fire patch length increased from 30m to 40m.
Fire patch width increased from 6m to 8m.
Precision Airstrike
Attacks will strike the target location 1 second faster.
PERKS
New
Field Medic Previously Veteran
Improves reviving speed and resistance to equipment effects.
Revive others 25% faster.
Bleed-out duration increased by 25%.
When you revive another player, they automatically equip one Armor Plate and gain 5% Movement Speed for 3 seconds.
When you are revived, you automatically equip one Armor Plate and gain 5% Movement Speed for 3 seconds.
Resistant to Flash, Concussion, Gas, and Shock equipment effects.
Drill Instructor Previously Grenadier
Improves health regeneration while sprinting and enhances nearby ally movement.
After sprinting for more than 1 second, health regeneration begins.
You and allies within 25 meters gain 3% Movement Speed and 15% faster mantling.
This buff persists for 10 seconds after leaving the radius.
Drill Instructor effects do not stack with other Drill Instructors.
Surveyor Previously Cold-Blooded
Improves map awareness and reveals enemy activity.
When nearby enemies within 120 meters use a Buy Station or pick up a Contract, they briefly appear on the map.
UAVs you activate have a 20% larger radius, and your minimap is zoomed out by 20%.
Downed enemies are visually outlined through walls within a 40-meter radius.
Adjusted
Scavenger
Removed the cash component from the Scavenger Bag.
Scavenger has become a necessity due to the cash addition. In part to adjust the overall economy and its sources this was a necessary change. This change moves scavenger back towards its core identity but this component could make a return in the future.

UAV
The cost of UAVs at Buy Stations has been increased from $6,000 to $8,000.
Spawn Locations Battle Royale Only
Buy Station spawn locations have been re-randomized across the map to create more dynamic combat scenarios and rotation opportunities.
New Buy Station locations are as follows:
CONTRACTS
Adjusted
Redacted Contracts Rebirth Island Only
Redacted Contracts introduce a mystery-driven twist by allowing players to start a contract without knowing the objective. Contracts marked with a “?” can reveal a Bounty, Scavenger, or Recon objective, rewarding the standard payout plus bonus loot upon completion.
Chaining multiple Redacted Contracts increases rewards, encouraging players to lean into the mystery and maintain momentum.
Recon
Recon Contract cash payouts reduced as follows:
Solos: $4,000 to $2,000
Duos: $2,500 to $1,300
Trios: $2,000 to $1,000
Quads: $1,800 to $900
WEAPONS
New Weapons
REV-46 Submachine Gun
Full-auto submachine gun. Extremely fast fire rate. Switch between a folded and unfolded stock position to change handling and recoil characteristics.
Deployed stock provides a massive improvement to movement speed when aiming for unparalleled strafing potential. Impacts sprint to fire and recoil but no longer slows ADS or mobility.
EGRT-17 Assault Rifle
Full-auto assault rifle. Fires superheated rounds that ricochet off solid surfaces.
Prestige Attachment: Fire Mods > MFS Heated Echo Rounds
Heated energy ammo that bounces more effectively against surfaces. Most effective when firing on the ground in front of the target.
H311-SAW Melee
Melee weapon. Moderate to long range and slow to moderate attack speed.
Unlock: Battle Pass Page 10
GDL Havoc Special Weapon
Pump-action grenade launcher. Grenades stick to solid surfaces and can be remote detonated. No ADS.
Unlock: Weekly Challenge Reward
Prestige Attachment: Magazine > MFS Airstrike Mag
Improves offensive abilities through a modified projectile that travels faster, can bounce off surfaces, and can be detonated sooner. An increased inner damage radius improves the chance to deal max damage to nearby targets.
SG-12 Shotgun (In-Season)
Semi-auto shotgun. Well-rounded for mid-range performance.
Unlock: Escalation Directive Event Mastery Reward
Prestige Attachment: Laser > MFS Pulse Fire Taclight
Dedicated flashlight that improves firepower through the addition of binary trigger firing functionality and tactical stance at the expense of damage range. Flashlight is visible in ADS.
New Attachments
XM325 Titan Wield (In-Season)
Use two devastating XM325s at once while managing belt-fed ammo and an overheat meter. Slows player movement and handling.
Can be acquired via Weekly Challenge Reward
FANG HoverPoint ELO (In-Season)
Discreet with a thin frame, this reflex sight features a floating illuminated reticle and improves stability at the expense of handling.
Can be acquired via Weekly Challenge Reward
A.R.C. M1 Assault Frame (In-Season)
Top mounted control system that shortens both the charge time and cooldown to support aggressive use against enemy personnel. Increases explosion radius and provides improvements to both mobility and handling.
Can be acquired via Weekly Challenge Reward
Razor 9mm Wildfire Conversion (In-Season)
Conversion kit offering a massive improvement to both fire rate and bullet velocity and a larger magazine. Adds spread to ADS and impacts movement speed when firing.
Can be acquired via Weekly Challenge Reward
